Terms of Service

ReptileKitchen LLC
Effective date: September 13, 2026

Read section 6 before you board an animal.

ReptilEnclosures introduces keepers to each other. It is not a boarding facility, is not a party to any boarding arrangement, and does not insure, supervise, or guarantee the care of any animal.

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of reptilenclosures.com and the services offered there (the “Platform”). The Platform is operated by ReptileKitchen LLC(“we,” “us,” “our”), the same company that operates reptilekitchen.com.

By using the Platform you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to list an enclosure or to send a boarding request. Both Hosts and Owners need an account, because requests and replies happen in a conversation on the Platform rather than over private email.

You are responsible for everything done through your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.

3. What the Platform does

The Platform lets a keeper (a “Host”) publish a listing for a spare enclosure, lets an animal’s owner (an “Owner”) send that Host a boarding request, and gives the two of them a message thread to agree the details in. A Host may accept or decline a request. That is the entire service. Specifically, we do not:

  • guarantee that a boarding will happen, or that either party will behave as agreed;
  • monitor, moderate or take responsibility for what users write to each other, beyond the automated contact-detail filter described in section 8;
  • set or negotiate rates — Hosts set their own;
  • inspect enclosures, homes, or husbandry in person;
  • supervise, insure, or take custody of any animal;
  • employ, contract with, or otherwise direct Hosts, who act entirely on their own behalf.

4. Host terms

By publishing a listing you represent that:

  • the enclosure exists, is yours to offer, and is empty and sanitized before any animal arrives;
  • your photos, dimensions, species suitability and setup notes are accurate and current;
  • you hold any licence, permit or landlord permission your jurisdiction requires for keeping animals belonging to others;
  • you will turn a listing off using the switch on your dashboard whenever the enclosure is unavailable.

We review Host profiles by hand before listings appear publicly. That review is a basic plausibility check on what you have written. It is not an inspection, a background check, a certification, or an endorsement, and nothing about it should be presented to Owners as one. We may decline, suspend or remove any Host or listing at any time.

You may list up to five enclosures. You set your own nightly rate. We collect it from the Owner on your behalf and pay you your share under section 7; you must not ask an Owner to pay you directly instead.

5. Owner terms

Sending a boarding request shows the Host your account name and whatever you wrote in the request, and opens a message thread between you. A Host accepting a request is an agreement between the two of you, not a booking we make, guarantee or stand behind.

Before handing over an animal, you are responsible for satisfying yourself about the Host and the enclosure, and for agreeing in writing on husbandry, duration, rate, and what happens if the animal becomes ill, escapes, or dies. Agreeing these in the thread before drop-off is the simplest way to have a record both of you can point back to.

6. Animal custody, risk and assumption of risk

Boarding a living animal with a stranger carries real risk, including illness, escape, injury and death. Owners and Hosts accept that risk between themselves. ReptileKitchen LLC is not a party to the arrangement, takes no custody of any animal, and is not liable for any harm to an animal, person or property arising from a boarding arrangement, however it came about.

Hosts and Owners are each responsible for complying with all applicable federal, state and local law governing the possession, transport and care of the species involved, including any restrictions on protected, venomous or otherwise regulated animals.

7. Fees

Owners pay the nightly rate the Host listed, multiplied by the number of nights. Nothing is added to that total.

ReptilEnclosures retains 10% of each booking, deducted from the Host’s side. Card processing costs come out of our share, not the Host’s payout and not the Owner’s total.

We hold the money rather than passing it straight through. An Owner is charged when the Host accepts. The Host’s share is transferred approximately two days after the boarding ends. Until then the funds sit with our payment processor under our control, which is what makes a refund possible at all.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Hosts are paid through Stripe Connect and must complete Stripe’s identity and bank verification before any transfer can be made; a Host may accept bookings before completing it, in which case their share is held until they do. We never receive or store card or bank details.

7.1 Cancellations and refunds

We are not a party to the boarding arrangement and do not adjudicate disputes between an Owner and a Host. We will, however, refund a booking from funds we still hold where both parties agree, where a Host cancels, or where we judge it necessary for the welfare of an animal. Write to support@reptilekitchen.com. Once a payout has been released to the Host, any refund is a matter between the two of you.

Hosts are responsible for their own tax on what they earn. Stripe issues the relevant year-end forms where thresholds require it.

8. Prohibited conduct

  • Listing an enclosure you do not have or cannot offer.
  • Misrepresenting your experience, setup or location.
  • Offering or requesting boarding for animals you may not lawfully possess.
  • Harassing, threatening or defrauding another user.
  • Using the Platform to collect contact details for unrelated marketing.
  • Working around the contact filter to move an arrangement off-platform. Messages, bios and listing text are scanned automatically for phone numbers, email addresses and off-platform handles; in messages these are masked before the message is stored, and in profile and listing text they are refused. You may of course exchange whatever details you like once you have met and agreed to board.
  • Scraping, probing or interfering with the Platform.

9. Enforcement and termination

We may suspend or remove any account, profile or listing at any time, with or without notice, including for conduct we judge unsafe to animals or to other users. You may stop using the Platform at any time; write to support@reptilekitchen.com to have your Host profile and listings removed.

10. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that listings are accurate, that Hosts are competent, or that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ReptileKitchen LLC and its officers, members and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of or injury to an animal, arising out of or relating to your use of the Platform.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Platform will not exceed one hundred US dollars ($100).

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ReptileKitchen LLC from any claim, loss or demand, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the Platform, your boarding arrangements, or your breach of these Terms.

13. Dispute resolution

Disputes between an Owner and a Host are between them. ReptileKitchen LLC has no obligation to mediate, arbitrate or resolve them, though you may report conduct to support@reptilekitchen.com.

Disputes between you and ReptileKitchen LLC are resolved under the dispute resolution and arbitration terms of the ReptileKitchen Terms of Service, which apply to this Platform as well.

14. General

14.1 Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14.2 Changes

We may revise these Terms by posting an updated version here. Continued use after a change means you accept it.

14.3 Relationship to ReptileKitchen

ReptilEnclosures is a separate brand and website operated by ReptileKitchen LLC. Accounts are not shared between reptilenclosures.com and reptilekitchen.com.
